Foster A Child

Thank you for considering opening your hearts and homes to children in our community who are in need of a temporary family to care for them.

To become a foster parent, please call the foster care and adoption information line at (386) 254-3766. Calling this number will result in an information packet being mailed to your home to assist you in the process.

The first step in this process is to take the MAPP class.
MAPP stands for Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting. This class is required by the State to become a foster parent. If you are a couple, both prospective foster parents must take the course together.

In order to take the class, you will choose one of our four contracted agencies with which to be affiliated. Your information packet will explain the agencies further, or you can contact each one to speak with a representative so that you can choose the one with which you feel most comfortable.
