Ongoing Medicaid Eligibility

The child may receive Adoption Medicaid and also be placed on his/her adoptive family’s medical insurance plan. The adoptive parent is responsible for any medical cost that Medicaid does not cover, unless there is a pre-existing medical condition with the child (medical subsidy). The child may also be eligible for Medicaid until the age of 21 under 409.1451 Independent living transition services.
